Celebrating Jesus

Christmas commemorates the birth of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, and truly, the world becomes a delightful place on the day.  It sweeps the magic wand and the snowy outdoors and joyous indoors fills the heart of one and all.  ~unknown

I hope all of you had a merry Christmas.  I didn't know I'd be away from my blog for so long, but I found I wanted to immerse myself in family and friends and celebrate Christ's birth without being tied to the computer. Here are a few highlights from our season:

Christmas with my parents at Thanksgiving

Decorating our home

School and church kids' programs

Double dating for concerts and plays

A Christmas tea (3), an evening with friends (1),
banquet and music services with Colburns (2) and
enjoying a day with Jonathon's family (4)

Sewing chaps and a princess dress, making candy and baking

Christmas Eve with pizza and gift opening

  • Christmas day breakfast with traditional Cessna date bread
  • Ham dinner with pumpkin and pecan pies
  • Cuddling with grands, reading new books, dress up fun
  • Relaxing with my favorite people
  • Simple late supper with ham sandwiches and Northern baked beans
  • Thankfulness for our family love made possible through the One who came at Christmas
